"The work on the tower and other areas of the church at St. Paul is now completed. The trim work and spire were also painted as part of this project. In addition to replacing many bricks and filling in mortar, the company found large holes in the roof of the spire, which caused water to leak inside the tower. This has now been repaired.
Also, new metal sheeting was installed to help deflect water from running down the corners of the tower where a great deal of damage was found. Two new sandstone caps were put on the tower as well. If you go tot he parking lot, you will see the foundation has also received a new coating. The bricks and mortar that were exposed by the parking lot excavation many years ago were in pretty bad shape.
After correcting the bad areas, the entire foundation area received a coating that will protect it for many years to come. I even ventured up to the top of the tower several times to inspect the work, and captured some great photographs! I am glad this project is finally completed!" - Fr. Mark
