The Athens Catholic Community is hosting a "Work Day of Prayer" for the intentions of human dignity and right to life on the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade ruling, Wednesday, January 22nd, 2014. The day will include 9am-5pm Adoration at the CTK Chapel, Noon Angelus/Rosary for Life at St. Paul Church, 3:30pm a Life Chain at St. Paul, and culminating with Mass at 5:15 at Christ the King. OU students are welcome to join in the regular Campus Ministry Dinner at 6pm at the Parish Center, followed by the Newman Meeting at 7:15, where the topic will be Human Dignity. All are encouraged to join in this effort to respect life! If you plan on worshiping in Adoration, please sign-up for an hour slot at one of the sheets in either church or the Parish Office.
We are offering childcare during Sunday 10:00 AM Mass beginning February 2nd at Christ the King in the water fountain room in the Church building. The Pregnancy Resource Center, a locally organized and funded, faith-based, life-affirming, non-profit organization will hold its annual Baby Bottle Campaign beginning Sunday, January 19. This year's focus surrounds the Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, a day to celebrate the intrinsic value of all human life. This important day also provides an opportunity for pregnancy centers to share about the work they do bringing life-affirming resources to their communities and empowering women and men to choose life for their unborn children. Envelopes will be available at both churches for your donations.

The Peace and Justice Committee would like to thank all those who contributed to our recent Cusco Diocese dinner fundraiser. Net proceeds were $981.80, which will be used for school equipment and supplies in Peru by our sister parishes.
On Saturday, November 2nd, we will remember our departed brothers and sisters at two special Masses. First, we will celebrate Mass at 9:00 AM at St. Paul Church. Then, at 11:30 AM, we will have Mass at St. John Church in Guysville, followed by a cemetery service.
We invite you to write the names of deceased loved ones in the book which will be out in both parishes during the month of November. The book will be in the center aisle at Saint Paul and in the Gathering Space at Christ the King. We will remember all those people in all the Masses offered throughout the month of November. We are also encouraged to pray privately for the dead during the month of November.
Masses for the Holy Day of Obligation of All Saints will take place on Thursday, October 31st at Christ the King, 6:00 PM, and Friday November 1st: 8:15 AM and 12:15 PM, both at Christ the King.
The annual Pregnancy and Infant Loss Candlelight Vigil will take place Tuesday, October 15 from 7:00 to 7:30 PM at the Athens Memory Gardens, 7360 Cameron Road, Athens. This is a time to remember and celebrate the tiny lives lost through abortion, miscarriage, still birth and infant death. Offering a time of reflection, prayer, and lighting of memorial candles. Thanks to all those who participated in the PRC's 2013 fundraising banquet. You were key to a very successful event that brought in just over $40,000 in supportive funds for client services and programs of the PRC. Thank you for celebrating life with us!
Bishop Monforton will be celebrating mass, along with other visiting priests, to mark the installation of Fr. Mark Moore as pastor on Sunday, September 22nd at the 11:30 AM Mass at St. Paul's Church. Religious Education classes are still scheduled to go on as usual that day. If your family would like to attend the installation Mass, we will see you there! If not, please stop in after classes and celebrate at the reception.
