Like other food pantries, our food pantry is experiencing a reduction in government resources. We are asking for the Catholic community's help to replenish the pantry.
Over the past year, the Food Pantry has provided assistance to more than 3,500 individuals who were part of over 1,300 households in the greater Athens area.
The Athens Catholic Community Food Pantry is supported totally by contributions from the parishes of St. Paul and Christ the King. We are also grateful to accept donations of cash and food products (such as canned goods) collected by various area organizations. Special recognition for support over the past several years goes to the Alpha Beta Psi Accounting Fraternity at Ohio University, American Legion 40/8, The Athens Running Club's annual "Turkey Trot" and The Oak Room's "Mardi Gras". These organizations/businesses have contributed canned goods, funds and proceeds in support of our food pantry and their contributions are greatly appreciated.
